How to get to Coimbra
Coimbra is roughly located halfway between the cities Porto and Lisbon, and requires a connecting transfer from either one if these airports.
Please make sure to also get informed online concerning your travel arrangements. All information is without guarantee of correctness and completeness and subject to change.
Train
The Journey to Coimbra takes approximmately 1 h 20 from Porto and 1h 40 from Lisabon when traveling with the the fast train (Alfa Pendular). Trains from both cities stop in Coimbra at „Coimbra B“ station (20 minute walk to city center) from there you can either take another train connecting you to „Coimbra A“ station or take a taxi.

Bus
The bus ride to Coimbra from Lisabon varies between 2 h to 2h 20; from Porto takes as long as the train ride, however both options are much cheaper than the train rides.

Airport Shuttle
Coimbra Airport Shuttle provides a door-to-door shared or private transfer between the city of Coimbra and the airports from Lisbon and Porto. They offer single fares and round trips for approx. € 30 per fare.

Visit the University of Coimbra
For participants of the conference we offer a visit to the beautiful University of Coimbra and get a glimpse of the astonishing baroque library.
This visit is free of charge, so make sure to sign up for the activity in the registration form.

On average, the weather in April varies between 15-20°C. Rain is not uncommon during that time, however, more likely are sunny skies.

Congress Badge & Certificates
Your congess badge and participation certificates will be pre-printed and available for pick-up on Friday, 18 April 2024 prior to the Opening session.
Congress Venue
The congress will be held at the Convento São Francisco, which is located in the centre of Coimbra.
Parking at the congress venue is free of charge for participants of ESRR’24 !
